How It Works

I am a state licensed child care provider in Utah. I did child care for three years before taking eight months off to obtain my bachelors. Getting back into things has been really difficult, especially with the economy. Parents seem to have less respect for child care providers and their pockets when they are hurting for money themselves. I thought I would start a blog for providers to discuss clients that have been disrespectful. If this gets really big, I will adjust my site and try to make it more user friendly. I just wanted to give it a try.

Please only state the facts. Parents can be really malicious and do some pretty distasteful things, but let's not stoop to their level. Just let other people know what they need to watch out for. Also, feel free to post comments about great clients and what you like.

If for any reason there is a comment posted that is not entirely true, the other party is welcome to contact me to explain the situation. datenightllc@gmail.com

Thanks! I hope this helps some hard working women avoid heartache at the expense of disrespectful parents.

P.S. In order to be fair, parents are more than welcome to post comments on their providers. Use the same rules as providers and only state the truth.

  1. Evita Starks attended for two days and then stopped coming. She refused to pay for the services provided. Her case worker closed her financial assistance so she is not able to transfer my funds either. Her daughter's name is Taisia, she is four-years-old.

  2. I think this is a great idea. I am a licensed provider near you in West Point. I had a HORRIBLE interview last night with a lady named Heather who works for Aflac. Her kids were jumping on my couch and opening drawers and snooping, all while the parents just sat there without stopping them or saying a word. It boggled my mind!! Plus, she wanted to negotiate my rates and pay me what she was paying a neighbor to watch her son which was what I made when I was I was a teenager babysitting. Watch out for this one! I wouldn't have signed her up if she paid me a million dollars ( well, maybe ;-) Anyways, hope everyone has a good year in daycare. Mine is slow right now. We should refer clients to eachother if we are full or don't need that age. That would help all of us struggling with getting new clients.

  3. On 10/23/08 I provided care for Seth and Adam Quigley. Their parents are James & Sara Quigley of South Jordan. After the first day of having to put Seth in time out 5 or more times and him wiping poop on my wall while I was rocking his younger brother to sleep, I explained what happened to the father when he arrived to pick the boys up. He stayed for an hour and during that time put Seth in "a constrained" (holding his down) time out at least 4 times, he broke a holiday decoration in my living room because he wouldn't not obey his father's request to leave it alone. I later spoke with Sara on the phone that evening to explain that I felt that Seth would do better with a more individualized provider, such as an in home nanny. (they tried that, she was not experienced enough), previous provider accused her husband of sexual harassment etc.. She thanked me for brainstorming ideas with her and explained she understood and that they would drop a check off to me.
After waiting a week, I dropped by her home unannounced to drop off and item they left and to collect payment. She told me she had been in the ER all night (she was sleeping while Seth was running around the house alone!) and that she didn't know where her husband kept the check book. It has been over 2 months and still no payment.
    BE WARE of this one!!!!
I have had great experiences with my other families and their children. I appreciate this site and hope it will be a great aide to all parties.

  4. Stay away from Danielle Alsup! I watched her little girl over a year ago and still haven't been paid a dime on her account which happens to be over $1000. She will use anyone she can and walks all over anyone that she can. I felt so bad for Tyanna, her daughter, and that's what got me into trouble atleast when she was in my care I knew she was safe. She even gave me false information on her daughter registartion forms, even her emergency contacts were false numbers, I never would've been able to get ahold of anyone if I needed to. She does a good job at first of making herself look like a loving and caring mom tryine to make it on her own, don't fall for it!! Stay away from her!

  5. I figured I had better put Steven and Michelle Alvey on here too. The father is laid off right now so they are not in need of care, but they will hit the market again when the snow melts. Their four-year-old daughter Debora has a horrible temper. She hit me and my newborn son in a fit. She lies to her parents when she does not have fun. She knows she will be removed from daycare if she is spanked, so she claimed I spanked her. When that did not work, she claimed she feared my husband. Her parents quit without notice. They refused to pay their two weeks and became very rude and demanded that I take them to court. They currently live in Syracuse, Utah.

  6. Just wanted to warn you of the scam from Peter. Here is a copy of my email. I knew a few people who have got scammed and they have played the religion card and out of country card each time.
    "Good Day,

It was nice to read from you.I work for a Christian film production company and i would be coming over with my wife, daughter and some clients from Africa to shoot a video over there in Utah.l would be coming into US with them in couple of week time, so i suggests that we conclude this transactions through this medium so that we can both have a comprehensive data of our dealings. We would be staying for a period of 2 weeks and would need someone to look after her.My Daughter is 3 years she love pets alot andher medical report is brilliant no worries at all.I am very sure you would love her company in your home.Let me know how much would you be charging for the duration of 2 weeks?and if we come to a compromise,i might talk to my other clients so that they could as well let you take care of their kids.Do get back to me.Have a blissful weekend.Remain Blessed.

    Yours In Faith,
    Peter Mccoy"
